pir@ is a personal, decentralized social networking and publishing system. It provides a peer to peer publishing app that enables people to directly communicate and interact for fun and profit.

We created pir@ because the web is dying a slow death due to advertising and social media has become nearly unusable because of trolling, ragebait, and spam. The world needs a way to share information that's updated for the 21st century's needs.

It's like a social network that you control. You create and manage content on your local device (like a smartphone or laptop) and can share them with friends. You have total control; when you decide to you can share something directly to another person without it being sent to ad servers, AIs (etc). This isn't possible today with current social networks that work for ad networks and not for you.

pir@ is for regular people. It is an updated, modern way to network digitally and talk to friends without the craziness and spam that dominates social media and the web. We also foresee AI agents using it but with clear identification of who and what they are.

The focus of pir@ will be providing simple to use publishing and subscription for "consumers" (people). You can use it send messages with your friends, publish public blog posts, buy and sell, and do other familiar things you might do today on centralized social networks. The difference is it will serve your need to get things done quickly, not the needs of large megacorps to drive "engagement" via dopamine drips and rage baiting.

pir@ core tools are free to use for people and always will be. We make money on a subscription feed for hosting your network. The pir@ hosting system will be offered as a paid service.
